My legs, hips and feet are killing me! Oh I am paying for that 15km this morning!
Day 2 in the classroom and our teachers are doing learning styles quizzes and brain dominance quizzes (the same ones you did!) Most of them came out middle brain and kinesthetic --- only 2 others auditory learners and 3 other left brainers (challenges for me right?)
At lunch time we were treated to a special lunch because the co-ordinator from the university arrived. It was our Thanksgiving --- no turkey in sight though. For dinner we were taken to a noodle house. Everyone seems quite amazed that we can use chopsticks! After dinner we took a walk in the park where the ladies do “square dancing” but really I think it is a form of group exercise. Music is playing on a loud speaker and there is a leader that everyone follows. Of course Mrs. Brajcich and I had to join in, bouncing up and down to the music and waving our arms around.
More than anything, I am overwhelmed by the warmth and kindness that we have experienced since arriving. The students give so much of their time before and after school, showing us around, making sure we have a place to eat, and writing out directions for us. People of the street are warm and friendly as well; although there is a certain amount of staring at us (we are quite a bit larger than the average Chinese person), they are also smiling and waving. A lot of them want to take a photo with usJ
